About Me

My name is Hampton Cobb, and I hail from Newtown, Connecticut. Throughout most of my life, I've been dedicated to athletics. Initially, I was quite slow, but years of perseverance and guidance from Coach Kevin transformed me into a faster and more skilled athlete. This journey has instilled in me the significance of hard work and dedication, lessons I've carried both on and off the track.

As I matured, I taught myself the long jump while continuing to play football. Despite some seasons being cut short by COVID, I emerged as one of Connecticut's top long jumpers and triple jumpers. We also won a football state championship. College brought new challenges and a new team. It was here I began to grasp the concept of patience and realized that not every day would be a peak performance day on the track, especially as I battled ankle injuries. However, when my team needed me most during the conference, I managed to secure 4th place in the long jump and achieved a season personal record.

My track and field career is ongoing, and although I'm facing more injuries and setbacks than usual, I'm eager to return home and share insights with young athletes—tips I wish I had known at their age, which would have saved me time and improved my performance in high school. I cherish the opportunity to mentor these kids, though my time is limited since I am still a college student. I love doing this, and I am committed to helping your young athlete become the best they can be. My background in understanding the science behind speed, coupled with fundamentals of nutrition and personal experience, will surely benefit them.
